I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
